Ear acupressure is helpful as an adjunctive treatment to acupuncture. Small metal beads are placed on specific areas on the ear and are held in place by a small, adhesive, “band-aid” like material. Patients are advised to keep the beads for several days and press on them at different time intervals to extend the effect of the acupuncture treatment. This form of therapy has many uses but has become renown for its success with smoking and addiction issues, as well as being adapted to the modern battlefield for pain.
